The Pachyderms

The Pachyderms (means "thick skin") have been herding, migrating and entertaining together for well over twenty years. They claim musical roots from before Rock and Roll, all the way back to the Woolly Mammoths. They consist of Augie Sabini on saxophone and anecdotes, Jack Kraft on piano and rebuttals, with Gary Solomon often getting the final word on bass. If necessary, they include Abe Speller on drums and folklore. They shun guitars. A typical evening with The Pachyderms will reveal the influence of Louis Jordan, Chuck Berry, Fats Waller, Ralph Kramden, the Smothers Brothers, and Dumbo. They also feature some unique original material, including the tasty "I Like to Eat", the environmentally-conscious "Twilight in Bayonne", "Jack Benny (A Cheapskate’s Lament)", and their unforgettable signature song, "Big Butts are Back In" . A Pachyderm performance is not something you’d want to miss.
